Line Clearance…
The documented act of conducting any necessary removal of products and materials from a manufacturing line to prepare the line for the next production (packaging).
The Production Supervisor and Quality Manager perform the line clearance process for each new order. This results in several roundtrips from the manufacturing line to adjacent workstations. Traditionally this had been a manual process of filling out a clipboard checklist and returning several times to a workstation to input information.
The new Line Clearance mobile application deployed on a tablet is designed to enhance a new lean line clearance process freeing up the Production Supervisor to conduct the questionnaire and digitally submit the clearance checklist at the line dramatically reducing the trips to the primary workstation.
My Role as Lead UI/UX Designer:
- Worked with a cross-disciplinary team to stakeholder and sponsor user feedback to build requirements
- Iteratively wireframed use cases and task flow
- Developed the Style Guide and Pattern library for development
- Conducted UI review and CSS adjustments during development via Eclipse
