InControl, a Gartner 2016 Supply Chainnovator winner

Recognized by Gartner as one of the most innovative digital supply chain solutions in 2016, the Jabil InControl ™ supply chain visualization and analytics platform won the “Supply Chainnovator” award during the annual Gartner Supply Chain Executive Conference. The platform was chosen from a field of more than 15 competing supply chain solutions. InControl earned the top spot in Gartner’s high-tech manufacturing category for driving the digital transformation of the global supply chain through the use of end-to-end visibility and actionable analytics.

“We’ve concentrated on what can be done in different ways for the Global Supply Chain. With the application of analytics, we now have information and data that wasn’t available at the speed that it is today. This is the area where you really translate new value for the digital enterprise.” -Fred Hartung, vice president of advanced planning and analytics.

I played a key role in the UX/UI design of InControl 1.0. Working directly with key stakeholders, Product Line Managers, end users, other designers and developers to craft next generation data visualizations and UI interfaces. Through research, interviews, and visioning sessions, I worked collaboratively to develop a number wireframes and prototypes, both static and coded.

IC2 is currently in Agile design and development. As lead UX designer for Jabil, I work directly with a large international team of UX researchers, UI designers, visual designers, and developers focused on the design operations and systems for the portfolio of 7 supply chain applications that comprise the InControl platform.

I was involved with the setup of the Sponsor User Program and have worked with an external UX team to set up the initial remote user testing programs. I collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams during product elaborations, POV sessions, participate in wire frame checkpoints and visual design reviews. I continue to work directly with the design team daily through brainstorming sessions and critiques. I develop interactive prototypes to communicate iterative design implementation to senior management, stakeholders, and sponsored users. I develop progress assessment documents and present to Jabil senior management on design progress on a regular basis.

Tools and processes used:

  • Adobe XD/UXPin/Axure
  • Photoshop
  • Hand Coding- HTML, CSS and javascript
